As Norfolk State head coach Latrell Scott says, "We're an older, young football team. We've only got 6 seniors."
The Spartans do have underclassmen who got plenty of playing time last year. They return a combined 12 starters on offense and defense.
Two weeks into practice and they're still trying to decide on who will be their starting quarterback. It's a three man competition.
Expect their defense to be a strength once again and perhaps hold things together while the offense comes around.
NSU has gone 4-7 in each of Coach Scott's first two seasons. The MEAC media predicts the Spartans to finish seventh in the conference this fall.
