NSU's Lynden Trail gets his big break in NFL

The former star linebacker at Norfolk State finally made it onto the playing field in the NFL with the Redskins.

It took plenty of perseverance and a little time working for UPS, but Lynden Trail finally made his way onto the field of play in the NFL with the Redskins.

Trail is quite the physical specimen. He is 6'7", 270 and quick for his size. He was an outstanding linebacker with Norfolk State, but it took some doing to make an active NFL roster.

He was on practice squads a couple of times in 2015, but never an active roster.

Trail went through training camp with the Redskins this year and made their practice squad out of camp. Two weeks into the season, the Redskins released him.

A few weeks later, the Rams put Trail on their practice roster and then released him.

After a few more weeks he went to work at UPS. About three weeks ago, the Redskins gave him a call during a work shift. Within days he was activated from the practice squad. and then, the dream came true. Trail suited up and played in the last two games of the regular season.

He talked to us about bleeding "Green and Gold" and the long work ahead in the off season.
