ODU football on road to recovery

From a six game losing streak in the middle of the football season usually spells doom, but ODU sill has a shot at a bowl game

For most schools, losing 6 game in a row in the middle of the season spells doom. Certainly it was a major setback for ODU, but the Monarchs still have their sights set on getting a bowl berth.

ODU needed to win their last 4 games of the season to become bowl eligible. They are halfway there and coming off an impressive win over FIU in Miami last Saturday.

Head coach Bobby Wilder is understandable impressed, "You find out if you've got tough people with good character and that's what we've learned about ourself. I've tried to stay consistent as the head coach which I think is the most important thing."

The Monarchs (4-6) host Rice (1-9) on Saturday at 2 pm.
