ODU looks to finish in style at home

It's the final game of the regular season and the final home game, making it Senior Day. Coach Wilder holds a special place in his heart for this group.

It's almost here. The last home game of the season for ODU comes up this Saturday against Florida International.

That means it's senior day for the Monarchs. Head coach Bobby Wilder is especially proud of this group. They came to ODU even they they knew there most likely would be no postseason play for at least three years as ODU transitioned from FCS to FBS.

Coach Wilder can quickly roll off the scores of those lopsided losses like 80-20 to North Carolina and 49-0 to Appalachian State. So he can now say about the seniors who played through those games, "They've been through all these difficult losses where they're questioning themselves and people are questioning what we're doing. They just have hung in there. Unbelievable leadership. To see them potentially go (1-0) this week and to end up with an undefeated home season in their final year. That would be special."
