ODU's Williams named starter vs. #13 Va. Tech

Freshman quarterback tossed 2 touchdowns in the 53-23 loss to North Carolina on Saturday.

NORFOLK, Va.- Old Dominion head football coach, Bobby Wilder was impressed by what Steven Williams did Saturday as the 3rd string quarterback against North Carolina. The freshman tossed two touchdown passes in the 53-23 loss to the Tar Heels af Foreman Field. It included a 71 yard toss to Travis Fulgham.

The performance has earned the 17 year old a chance to start against #13 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Wilder feels his quarterback is ready. "He's earned the right to be the starting quarterback", he says.
