UVA football coach Bronco Mendenhall and his players are trying to make sense of the weekend of violence in Charlottesville.

UVA football coach Bronco Mendenhall and his players are trying to make some sense of the violent weekend in Charlottesville.

Mendenhall said among the many messages he was sending to his team was this, "Our message is one of consistency, unity, embracing diversity and being together and respecting one another for differences and not separating because of differences."

He had plenty more to say on Tuesday, in his first interview with the media since the weekend.
