WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- With their football season fast approaching, the College of William & Mary for now is not quite set at quarterback. Shon Mitchell is among 5 battling for the top spot for the Tribe. The Chesapeake native comes to Williamsburg with big high school numbers from his days at Oscar Smith, and wants to be apart of past quarterback that have come through the school. "Just to be able to come in to be viable and compete for a starting position is humbling", he says.
Mitchell has definitely caught the eye of his head coach, Jimmye Laycock. "To be thrown into spriing practice and come out of it even up with other people. That's a pretty strong accomplishment right there", he says. The true freshman left high school as the state record holder in career passing yards and touchdowns.
