NORFOLK-- A sellout crowd packed Scope on Saturday night to watch the Norfolk Admirals play the St. John's IceCaps on pink ice.

The sixth annual 'Pink in the Rink' night helps bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer.

In order to get pink ice the ice crew first shaved off a couple of layers of ice. Then the crew flooded the rink and added a pink pigment. More flooding to the surface gave it a clear coat on the top.

Organizers say $4 from every ticket sold went to the Tidewater affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The game was the first sellout of a 'Pink in the Rink' night in the history of the event.

However, the St. John's IceCaps received a 28-save shutout from goaltender Eddie Pasquale to get a 1-0 victory over the Admirals.
