The Research Analyst serves as the station's primary strategic analyst of our audience levels, both qualitatively and quantitatively, and uses the analyses for effective sales positioning as well as station promotion and branding.

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

providing Sales team with actionable analyses and rationale to position and sell our multiplatform programs/products/solutions

providing News, Creative Services, senior station managers with analyses and rational to position our programs/products/solutions

providing external clients (agencies, advertisers) with analyses and material that position our platforms and local market

preparing multimedia presentations and supporting documents

attending sales department meetings, presenting data as needed

understanding and maximizing the benefits of station research tools, software, and resources

utilizing quantitative and qualitative data for benefit of station and station clients

responding appropriately to incoming calls and emails

maintaining and updating sales support material, including our Intranet sales site

pulling reports as needed

providing oversight and direction to national rep firm in terms of ratings estimates and one-sheets

occasionally participating in outside sales functions / presentations

being a positive and professional representative of Belo and our multiple advertising platforms

Critical requirements:

ability to combine sharp analytical thinking with a creative marketing approach

strong organizational and time management skills

dependability and punctuality

excellent follow-through and detail orientation

strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

good interpersonal skills get along well with others

Essential qualifications include the ability to:

work with numbers

accurately compare and verify information

work in a fast paced environment; handle multiple duties simultaneously

effectively communicate with others (present ideas, facts and technical information clearly)

quickly adjust to changing priorities, goals, procedures and essential duties

take initiative; effectively solve problems on your own

Additional qualifications:

College graduate

1-3 business experience in broadcasting, advertising, marketing or research preferred

Exposure to Nielsen data and qualitative like Scarborough data preferred
