SUFFOLK-About 1,200 jobs moved out of Suffolk with the disestablishment of U.S. Joint Forces Command in 2011. Now, more than 1,500 jobs are returning as Navy Cyber Forces moves from Va. Beach.

City spokeswoman Diana Klink says the move, expected to be complete in September, brings 1,578 enlisted, civilian and contractors to the old JFC headquarters.

The Navy says Its mission is to provide relevant, resilient and effective command, control, communications, computer, combat systems and intelligence capabilities, and a highly trained cyber workforce to maximize Fleet readiness and support all missions through cyberspace.

Navy Cyber Forces has been based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story since it was created in February 2010.
