EDENTON, NC-A 16-year-old is charged with making a call that threatened Chowan Co. schools.

Authorities say Christopher Freeman called 911 around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and was arrested later that night.

They said there was nothing at this point to connect him to the threat against the school, courthouse and bridges that led to the shut down of Chowan-Edenton schools on Tuesday morning.

Freeman, who attends John A Holmes High School, was being held under a $10,000 bond on a charge of making a false report of mass violence on educational property, officials said.

As a precaution, the Chowan County Sheriff's Office has additional officers in and around each school.

The investigation into yesterday's incident continues.
