ISLE OF WIGHT CO. -- The National Weather Service confirms a tornado touched down Saturday near Bob White Road in Isle of Wight.

The tornado traveled on the ground for two miles and lifted near Quaker Road.

The tornado tore down trees and ripped sheet metal off of buildings.

Longtime resident Herbert Boothe said he'd only seen this type of destruction in major storms.

'When the hurricane came through it blew some trees on my house. You just get out here clean it up and start over again,' said Boothe.

Crews were busy Monday cleaning up debris tossed around.

One person's deck barely stood standing and their car windows were smashed.
