UPDATE 2/19 @ 11 p.m.:Tonight's winning Powerball numbers are as follows: 1, 17, 35, 49 and 54. The Powerball is 34.
With the Powerball jackpot climbing to an estimated $400 million, Virginia Lottery officials expect to sell about 1.4 million tickets in the Commonwealth on Wednesday alone.
If someone hits the jackpot Wednesday, they would become the first Powerball winner of 2014.
If one ticket matches all six numbers, the winner will have a choice -- either take the full $400 million jackpot in 30 annual payments or choose a one-time cash option of approximately $227.8 million before taxes.
Lottery officials say Powerball is hot in Virginia. In the past 12 months, Virginians have won ten $1 million Powerball prizes, a $2 million prize and a $217 million Powerball jackpot.
Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
