YORK COUNTY -- Following and 18-month long investigation into street level narcotics dealing in York County, eight people have been arrested and charged, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office.

According to Captain Lyons, all of the charges stem from drug buys made in the area of Leigh Rd., Walnut Dr., Yorktown Square and Rivermeade Apartment area of York County.

'We believe several of the individuals arrested are responsible for a large portion of the drug dealing occurring in this particular area,' Lyons told WVEC.com. 'Most, if not all, of those arrested either knew one another or were at least familiar with one another.'

Lyons said several of the suspects were working in conjunction with one another, while others were working independently.

The following were charged:

Calvin Lovell Carter, 51, of the 300 block of Leigh Rd. in York County is charged with 5 counts of Distribution of Cocaine.

Don Diego Pierce, 52, of the 100 block of Walnut Dr. in York County is charged with 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and 5 counts of Distribution of Cocaine.

Corey Dubrey, 29, of the 300 block of Leigh Rd. in York County is charged with 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and 4 counts of Distribution of Cocaine.

Michael Odell Randall, 40, of the 19000 block of Turk Dr. in Charles City County is charged with 3 counts of Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and 2 counts of Distribution of Cocaine.

Eric Darnell Smith, 40, of the 300 block of Leigh Rd. in York County is charged with 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and 3 counts of Distribution of Cocaine.

Brian Lewis, 22, of the 600 block of Windsor Ct. in Newport News is charged with 1 count of Distribution of Cocaine.

Justin Wright, 33, of the 200 block of Springfield Dr. in York County is charged with 1 felony count of Distribution of Marijuana and 1 count of Distribution of Cocaine.

Edward J. Whitby, 32, of Walnut Dr. in York County is charged with 1 count of Distribution of Cocaine.

Lyons said two additional suspects turned themselves in on Wednesday. They are still searching for an additional suspect, Antonio Smith.
