PORTSMOUTH -- Two shooting incidents within 30 minutes of each other led to a busy night for emergency personnel in Portsmouth.

The first call to 9-1-1 came in shortly after 11 p.m. reporting that a man appeared to have been shot. When they arrived at the scene, first responders found an adult male suffering from injuries described as consistent with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. His injury was characterized as non-life threatening.

Then, about 30 minutes later, another 9-1-1 call came in reporting another man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound located in the 50 block of Merrimac Drive. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the torso. This man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General by medics with serious injuries. At last report, he was undergoing surgery.

Police say they don't have information about possible suspects or motives in either of these shooting incidents. They did say, however, that they don't believe the two shootings are related.

Anyone with information on either of these incidents is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
