NEWPORT NEWS -- The 19-year-old man who was shot in the head late Sunday night has died, according to Newport News Police.

Officers found the victim, Rachard Timothy Lewis, on the ground with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital where he died at around 5:25 p.m. Monday

the fourth teenager to be injured by gunfire in a violent day of shootings.

Newport News police were called to the 1100 block of 22nd Street around 11 p.m. Sunday night, according to Newport News police spokesperson Lou Thurston.

A couple of residents in the East End neighborhood say they heard gunshots, but didn't see anything.

Earlier Sunday, two other unrelated shootings happened in the city. One off of Denbigh Boulevard, at the corner of Cantina Way and Crossing Court, the other on Blake Loop.

Those three victims, all in their teens, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for suspects in each of the shootings.
