General Assignment Reporter
WVEC is looking for someone to enterprise story ideas, investigate story leads, and work on general assignment stories. Deliver reports demonstrating energy, confidence, professional appearance and voice quality.
You will also set up and shoot special projects, series and live remotes. You will to need interact productively and positively with station personnel and the general public. Keep abreast of local, national and world news, and current events.
A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or Electronic Media or related field is required and a minimum of two years previous video journalism experience. You will need excellent writing and oral communications skills, strong camera expertise and ability to work under deadlines and be flexible with your schedule.
May also shoot and edit news stories as needed. Strong computer skills with Windows based software experience and proficiency in non-linear editing is a plus. Responsible for providing written content and/or video for wvec.com and all 13News social media outlets. Live in a great region near the ocean.
