NEWPORT NEWS - Police want to find the man they say went on a shopping spree using credit cards he stole after breaking into cars.

On the afternoon of November 27, police say he broke the driver's window and was able to open the trunk once inside. He took a purse from the car parked at a shipyard lot off Huntington Ave. and got money from banks and made purchases at several stores, police stated.

Three days later, the same man broke into cars parked at One Life Fitness on Middle Ground Road, took credit cards and again used them at banks and stores.

Bank surveillance camera images show the man who is facing charges of larceny and credit card fraud. Investigators believe he's in his late 30s or 40s and was smoking a cigar.

Other images show the man going into a store, making a purchase and leaving.

If you know anything about him or the vehicle break-ins, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
