NORFOLK -- Police are investigating a Saturday morning robbery that took place in the Ghent area.

The robbery occurred around 10:45 a.m. inside the Wells Fargo branch at 2000 Colonial Avenue.

A spokesperson with the police department says the suspect walked into the bank and passed a teller a note. He indicated to the teller that he had a weapon. The teller complied with his request and provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect then walked out of the bank and fled the scene in an older model vehicle. He has been identified as 44-year-old Demetruis Lockhart. Police are searching for Lockhart.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The robbery remains under investigation.
