VIRGINIA BEACH - Police say a 22-year-old man opened fire at robbers trying to get in his home.
Police say Trevor Snowden grabbed his shotgun after two men leaning in an open window of his Mango Drive home pointed weapons and told him to close the door. He grabbed the gun from the hallway, fired through the bedroom door and then opened the door and fired toward the window, said MPO Grazia Moyers.
He said he felt he was going to be robbed, she added.
Police searched the area late Saturday night but didn't find the suspects.
The shots did not hit anyone or cause any damage to neighboring property.
Snowden was charged with one count of reckless handling of a firearm and released on a summons.
