UPDATE 2/4: Gov. McAuliffe ordered the flag be flown at half-staff Wednesday, Feb. 5 on all local, state, and federal buildings in respect and memory of Greensville County Deputy Sheriff Percy Lee House, III.

UPDATE 2/3: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, between 2:00-4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, located at 303 South Halifax Road in Jarratt.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 5 at 2 p.m. at the Golden Leaf Commons, 1300 Greensville County Circle, Emporia. Internment will be a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad or to the Emporia Volunteer Fire Department.

EMPORIA -- The Greensville County Sheriff's Office confirms that the search for a deputy who went missing Friday morning has ended.

Dep. Percy Lee House, 52, last made contact with the department around 9:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Katina Mason Harrison. He was on patrol in the Skippers area when he went missing.

House was discovered dead inside his vehicle after apparently being involved in a weather-related crash. Crews located his car not far from the area where he was last reported driving.

Greensville County first responders, State Police, Emporia Police, Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and Sheriff's Departments from Brunswick, Northampton, Southampton and Sussex took part in the search for House.
