NORFOLK -- A 14-year-old boy was hit by a car as he crossed the street in Norfolk on Tuesday.

Officer Daniel Hudson told WVEC.com the child was coming from Kenton Ave. around 7:45 a.m. and ran diagonally across Corprew Avenue. A vehicle going east hit the child. The driver did stop, Hudson stated.

The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment and is now at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.

The 2500 block of Corprew Ave. was closed for the investigation.

No charges have been placed.
