NORFOLK -- Two crewmembers of an Oceana-based jet were recovered and are okay after their Super Hornet crashed into the North Arabian Sea.

The Navy says the F/A-18F Super Hornet from VFA-103 'Jolly Rogers' in Virginia Beach experienced engine failure at 12:20 p.m. local time. The crew ejected. Search and rescue swimmers from an SH-60F of HS-5 'Night Dippers' got them from the water and took them to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The Squadron is part of Carrier Air Wing 7, attached to the Norfolk-based carrier.

Eisenhower, based at Naval Station Norfolk, is on a scheduled deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.

The Navy is investigating the incident.
