SUFFOLK - Three people were hurt when their SUV ran into a tractor- trailer in Suffolk early Friday.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. at Portsmouth Blvd. and Suburban Drive and police had to detour traffic for the investigation.

According to City spokeswoman Diana Klink, the driver of the Ford Explorer was flown to the hospital and one of the passengers was taken by ambulance. The third person was treated at the scene. She said none of the injuries is life threatening.

The tractor-trailer driver wasn't hurt.

The investigation continues and charges are pending, Klink added.
