*Update: Police said Terrence Devonne Faison was captured Friday morning by the Henrico County Police Department SWAT Team in Richmond. No further details were released.
AHOSKIE -- Police are looking for 35-year-old Terrence Devonne Faison. They believe he shot a teenager at Pinegate Apartments at about 1:25 p.m. Tuesday.
The shooting prompted lockdowns at 3 Hertford County Schools, including Ahoskie Elementary School which sits across from the apartment complex.
People who live in Pinegate told 13News Now the teenager is a 16-year-old who does not live there. He was visiting a woman who does. Neighbors added that woman, who is in her 20s, had a relationship with the teenager and had a relationship with Faison.
The shooting started at that woman's apartment. Once the gunfire began, neighbors said the 16-year-old ran across the complex. They added he was hit several times before he collapsed.
The teenager, eventually, was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A spokesman for Sentara Healthcare said the family of the teenager requested no information be released about his condition.
Several people at Pinegate Apartments saw Faison earlier in the day in court. One of those people, who asked to be identified as 'Tonya,' said he left the courthouse during a recess shortly after noon and never returned. She noted that he seemed out of sorts and was sweating a lot, despite the fact he was in air conditioning.
Faison is 5'8' tall and weighs about 265 pounds. Police think he may be armed with a small silver handgun, possibly a revolver. They said he frequents Ahoskie and Murfreesboro in North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia.
Online records from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety show that Faison is a convicted killer, found guilty of Second Degree Murder in 1995. He served about 9 years before his release in 2004.
Someone who lives at the complex and went to school with Faison said the person killed in 1995 was his mother's boyfriend.
Anyone with any information on Faison's whereabouts is asked to contact Lieutenant Jeremy Roberts at (252) 332-5012.
