PORTSMOUTH-How much do you like Halloween? Do you like to be scared? Is that one of your ghoulish pleasures? Then check out Maryland Mansion in the Portsmouth Norfolk neighborhood of Portsmouth.

This year, the home will be transformed with a carnival of freaks theme.

You can be chased by zombies and monsters as you wind your way through the neighborhood by taking part in the first annual Port Norfolk BOO-ya! 5K and Little Monsters Fun Run on Saturday, October 19.

And because hunger is scary, people are being asked to bring a food donation to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Port Norfolk Church, which feeds about 120 people in Portsmouth each week.

Money raised from the events will be divided between Foodbank and the Port Norfolk Civic League. The league says it will use the money to get a basketball hoop for the rec center and neighborhood beautification projects.
