NORFOLK - Several flights to and from Norfolk International Airport have been cancelled or delayed as the mid-Atlantic region and Northeast are again being covered by snow and ice.

Norfolk International tweeted around 9 a.m. 'Flight monitors at ORF show morning inbound flights from LGA, EWR, IAD and outbound service to EWR and JAX cancelled.'

No flights at Newport News-Williamsburg International have been impacted, according to its Website.

Officials stress travelers should contact airlines to confirm flight status before heading to the airport.

Anywhere from a few inches to a foot or more of snow is expected to fall today on East Coast states. Some are getting freezing rain and sleet that is making driving treacherous. It's the region's second go-round since Monday.

The National Weather Service says up to a quarter of an inch of ice had accumulated by Wednesday morning across from western Maryland to northern Delaware, with a few spots seeing more.

Maryland emergency management officials report rising power outages with more than 103,000 customers in the dark, mostly in counties north and west of Baltimore. Delmarva Power is reporting more than 5,000 in Delaware.

The federal government is open, but workers can telework or take unscheduled leave. Delaware state government offices in New Castle County are opening at 10 a.m. Liberal leave is in effect for Maryland state workers until noon.
