VIRGINIA BEACH -- Friday's weather brought high winds and driving rains along the Shore Drive corridor in Virginia Beach.

Residents in Lynnhaven Colony saw the usual ponding of water along neighborhood streets.

The more dramatic area was the Chesapeake Bay shoreline. A high wind advisory was posted for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Longtime restaurant owner Stephen Michaels was working at his Alexander's On The Bay renovation.

'I have lived here all my life. Cannot remember a winter as bad as this one,' said Michaels.

Public Works spokesman Drew Lankford said crews were out checking on flooding complaints from citizens.

'This storm is bad, but it gives us a chance to respond to people and even work on equipment. It's not a major nor'easter,' said Lankford.
