VIRGINIA BEACH -- People living along the Oceanfront had a rough start to their Easter Sunday. An apparent BB gun shooting spree left nearly two dozen cars damaged within the span of a mile.

Neighbors told 13News Now that someone shut up 6 cars on Delaware Avenue Saturday night.

People said they spent several hours Sunday morning cleaning up the shattered glass of broken windows, windshields, and tail lights.

'They [Virginia Beach Police] said they had 20 to 25 reports at the time they came by to take our report,' explained Tom Patrick, whose girlfriend's SUV was hit on Delaware Avenue. 'They said the damage had spread from our neighborhood all the way up to 24th Street and the Oceanfront.'

Virginia Beach Dispatch said there were several reports of incidents involving BB guns Saturday night. There were no reports of injuries.

'I just think it was a bunch of kids who don't really have a lot of respect for other people's property, and you know, they just thought they were out having fun, damaging property, and don't realize the actual problems they're causing for people,' Patrick said.
