WILLIAMSBURG-- Security was tight as President Obama left the Newport News Williamsburg International Airport around noon Tuesday.

Security teams were on the ground, on top of buildings and in the air to make sure the president's departure from the Peninsula went smoothly.

Obama left on Air Force One for New York for the second of three debates with challenger Mitt Romney.

The president has been in Williamsburg preparing and was described by aides as being calm and energized for the debate.
