NORFOLK -- Two men were sentenced Tuesday to life in prison plus 60 months for a deadly shooting at a Portsmouth pawn shop.

21-year-old Kevin Stevens Jr. and 20-year-old Xavier Holley were convicted in July for the murder of 51-year-old Robert Nelson, who was found dead inside the Gold Shop on Oct. 6, 2010. Nelson was watching the store on Portsmouth Blvd. for a friend.

The U.S. Attorney's office said Stevens, Holley, and others twice tried to rob the business in October. They say Holley provided the gun and, during the second attempt, Stevens used it to shoot Nelson.

In February, 21-year-old Montarius N. Murry was sentenced to 43 years for his role in the shooting.

Stevens and Holley were found guilty of two counts each of attempted robbery and one count each of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, use of a firearm during a crime of violence, and use of a firearm causing Nelson's death.
