FORT LEE, VA. - Fort Lee Fire and Emergency Services extinguished a fire at a vacant building on the Army post near Petersburg early Tuesday morning.

When crews arrived at the one-story training facility on Front Access Road they saw fire coming through the roof.

According to initial estimates, the fire caused more than $250,000 in damage to the 20,000 square-foot building, which was built in 1941 and is undergoing renovation for use by the U.S. Army Quartermaster School.

No injuries were reported.

Fort Lee Fire and Emergency Services is investigating the cause of the fire.
