HAMPTON --A 20-year-old Hampton man accused of opening fire at a Hampton restaurant is in the city jail.

Javon Rian Carroll got into an argument at Tide Mill Cafe on North Armistead Avenue early Sunday, left and then returned with a gun, police said.

Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. and found a man and a woman who'd been hit by gunfire.

The victims were expected to recover.

Carroll is charged with two counts each of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharging a firearm in a public place.
