NEWPORT NEWS Police say they have identified the driver of a pick up truck they say struck and killed a woman and then left the scene.
According to police spokesperson, Holly McPherson, the driver, a N.News man, has not been charged.
Investigators will present their findings to the Commonwealth's Attorney who will then determine if charges will be brought.
Police say 54-year-old Marcella Yvette Spain was struck around 9 p.m. at Warwick Boulevard and Hilltop Road.
The suspect vehicle, described as a white pickup truck with an extended cab and steel toolbox in the bed, was located Monday.
Spain's family says she was a mother of four, a grandmother and loving wife.
Russell Smith is Spain's pastor and says her family is devastated, but praying for the driver who hit Spain.
'You've got to pray for whoever hit her because that's one of our duties, to pray for our enemies, pray for those who have done things to us. We are hoping and praying that whoever did this will at least honestly come forward,' said Smith.
