YORK COUNTY - Close to 500 homes in Seaford were without water overnight because of a water main break.

Lee Ann Hartmann with Newport News Waterworks said people started posting on Facebook about the outage around 11:00 p.m.

Crews found the break on was on Seaford Road near Raymond Drive and began making repairs.

Hartmann says most of the service was back by 4:30 a.m. and all customers had water by 5:30 a.m.

She said people in Seaford may notice some sputtering when the first turn the faucet caused by air in the line and she recommends just letting the water run and normal water flow should occur shortly.

Hartmann says it's not clear what caused the break.
