HAMPTON, VA-- A house fire in the 100 block of Horseshoe Landing, which runs off Apollo Drive, caused heavy damage to the structure, but resulted in no injuries.

The first units arriving shortly after 9 a.m.reported heavy smoke showing.

According to Capt. Jeff Pereira with Hampton Fire Department, it took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. The house sustained heavy fire damage to the split-level first floor, and smoke damage to the second floor.

Fire investigators arrived on scene shortly after 11 a.m. to try and determine a cause.

No one was home at the time of the fire.
