ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY-Vehicles were damaged or had items taken out of them on two weekends in the Carrollton area of Isle of Wight County.

Several people in the Eagle Harbor Apartment complex on Rt. 17 woke up Saturday, February 8 to find things missing from their vehicles. Authorities say the thieves targeted cars that were unlocked and stole photography equipment, a laptop, a cell phone, and an MP3 player.

It was a similar situation Monday, February 17. At the same complex, a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser was taken, And on nearby streets, the sheriff's office says thieves broke windows on five locked vehicles and took a weapon, garage door openers, a book bag with iPad, a wallet and a back pack with hunting equipment.

Those break-ins occurred on Overlook Terrace, James River Trail, Nelson Maine, and Broadwater Arch all off Rt. 17 in the Eagle Harbor and Carisbrooke areas.
