VIRGINIA BEACH -- Two people were hurt when fire started in a bedroom and spread to the bathroom of a home in Va. Beach.

Crews were called to the 300 block of Dillon Drive around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

One person was burned and the other had problems from smoke inhalation and both were taken to the hospital, said Battalion Chief Jack Crandle.

A firefighter at the scene said they found one of the victims in the hallway and the other had gotten outside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Red Cross is helping two adults who were displaced by the fire.
