JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Firefighters are trying to gain the upper hand on a fire at a recycling plant in Jersey City.

The smoke from the blaze at Sims Metal Management Company is visible for miles.

The fire started late Monday night.

According to broadcast reports, a four-story pile of metal appears to be burning.

A 50-pound pile of metal and plastic burned at the plant for 12 hours in 2010.
