JAMES CITY COUNTY-- A man has been critically injured following an accident Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to a motorcycle-vehicle wreck in the 6900 block of Richmond Road at 2:30 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 55-year-old man from Lanexa was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Richmond Road and hit a 2005 Buick sedan that was coming out of the Colonial Towne Shopping Plaza.

Officials say the Buick, driven by an 88-year-old woman from Hopewell, pulled out in front of the motorcycle to cross Richmond Road to make a left turn.

The motorcycles driver was flown by Nightingale to Norfolk Sentara General Hospital with critical injuries, according to police spokesman Steve Rubino.

The driver of the Buick and a passenger, her 83-year-old sister from Prince George, were transported by ambulance to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, Rubino says.

A third passenger, the driver's twin sister, was not injured.

The driver of the Buick was identified as Helen Christine Cibula. She was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way.

The crash remains under investigation. Stay with 13News Now for updates as they become available.
