GLOUCESTER COUNTY -- Dominion Virginia Power crews worked to restore service to customers in Pinetta Sunday after a storm Saturday took out electricity and prompted the condemnation of at least 4 homes.
'I ran into the bathroom and got on top of the boys,' recalled Michelle Pritchett, fighting back tears.
Pritchett's house is among those condemned on Pine Grove Road. Heavy winds snapped trees in half there and scattered utility poles across the street.
'After it swept through, we stayed here,' Pritchett told 13News Now. 'We couldn't go nowhere. There was power lines everywhere. You were afraid to move.'
Pritchett spent Saturday night in the hospital where doctors treated her for stress.
Her sister was among the friends and family who helped clear away storm debris Sunday.
'You gotta take it one step at a time,' said Linda Harvey, 'and keep the faith that you're going to be okay and that you'll survive. You'll persevere, and you'll come back stronger.'
Although there was significant damage from the storm, the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office said no one was hurt.
