NORFOLK - Fire early Monday damaged a house in Norfolk.

Crews were called to Ethel Avenue off Granby Street around 5:30 a.m. about fire coming from the second floor/attic area of the home.

Power was turned off so crews for the firefight and crews searched the Riverview home to make sure no one was inside. They got one woman to safety, said Battalion Chief Julian Williamson.

Delcia McRae told 13News Now a loud noise woke her up, she saw fire and ran out of the house with just her night gown on. She's getting help from a neighbor until the Red Cross arrives.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
