NORFOLK -- Lafayette-Winona Middle School released students at 12:45 p.m. Monday due to climbing temperatures in the building.

An air conditioning system malfunctioned Monday morning, school officials said.

Parents were notified by reverse phone calls.

Officials said repairs are underway in hopes that the system will be fixed for Tuesday classes.
