NEWPORT NEWS -- A portion of I-64 in Newport News has been shut down after a tractor-trailer lost its load of concrete slabs.
State troopers received a call of a hazard blocking the roadway on I-64 westbound at Victory Boulevard around 5:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police.
No injuries were reported, but the loss of the load has caused a major traffic delay. The on-ramp from Victory Boulevard has been shut down as crews work to clean up the mess. It's not clear when the ramp will reopen.
