SURRY COUNTY -- Laurie Naismith with Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) said a jet skier found a body Sunday evening in the James River near the area where a boater went missing Saturday.

Crews continued their search for the man after a boating mishap on the river.

Someone found an unmanned boat at Chippokes State Park Saturday morning. The boat had personal items on it, including a wallet with ID and a cell phone.

Somebody found a woman floating in the water near the boat. She was alive but suffering from hypothermia. VMRC believed she was a passenger in the boat.

Naismith said two of VMRC's boats participated in the search for the missing man, as well as Coast Guard assets.

She could not say if the body found in the river was the missing man's body.
