VIRGINIA BEACH -- It's been a year since an off-duty Norfolk police officer was shot and killed in Va. Beach.

Officer Victor Decker was found shot to death near his pick-up truck parked on Oceana Blvd. on October 26, 2010.

The 25-year-old had been at a fundraiser at Atlantis Night Club.

He left behind a wife and young daughter. Dawn Decker has pleaded for help to solve the case and, a year later, still has so many unanswered questions.

On Wednesday, she told 13News family members are grieving in their own ways.

She also believes that detectives are working as hard is they can and that's all that she can hope for.

Jacob Fox went to police academy with Decker and reflected at the roadside memorial.

'It feels like it's a little bit of a connection anything left sometimes you talk to him you feel like you're still talking to him but it's just tough it's hard,' said Fox.

In a written statement to the media, Virginia Beach Police said, 'We feel it is in the best interest of the investigation to not comment on any case related details at this time.'
