PORTSMOUTH -- A Portsmouth Public Schools administrator has been arrested for allegedly taking indecent liberties with a child.
Thursday afternoon, Portsmouth Police Department's Special Victims Unit arrested Kevin Brown, assistant director of student services at S.H. Clarke on Turnpike Road.
This happened just after a grand jury indicted Brown on four counts of indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship.
During a month-long investigation, police found that a 16-year-old victim was approached about sexual encounters. No sexual contact was made. Investigators say the events happened between November, 2011 and April, 2012.
Brown has been working for Portsmouth Public Schools since 2003. He is on administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.
