NEWPORT NEWS -- Nine men are charged with prostitution-related offenses after Newport News Police held an undercover operation recently.

It was conducted in the 10100 block of Jefferson Avenue on Saturday, June 30.

Six men who were charged with soliciting prostitution and using a vehicle to promote prostitution are: Christopher Karhan, Pedro Lazaro-Hernandez (no photo available), Kevin Mays, James Miller, Michael Smith, and Amir Wallace.

Three men who were charged with soliciting prostitution are: Gopal Biswakarma, Ganesh Sharma, and Bala Thapa.

Information regarding suspected prostitution activities or any other criminal activity may be reported to police by calling Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Crime Line callers may remain totally anonymous, are never required to testify in court and could be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
