OAKLAND, California (WHAS11) -- An Oakland, California high school officer was caught on video attempting to push a student in a wheelchair to his class.

Apparently, something happened and the student spit on the officer and slapped his hand.

That's when the officer snapped and started punching the student. He actually pulled him out of the chair and tried to drag him into the class.

The student is Hispanic and parents who are outraged say his race probably had something to do with it.

The officer was immediately fired and police investigated.

He now has charges against him.

The Oakland School District said the officer let his emotions get the best of him.
