HAMPTON -- A man was found shot to death between two homes in Hampton.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, police got numerous calls about shots fired in the 400 block of Catalpa Ave.

The victim, who hasn't been identified, had been shot several times.

Investigators spent about three-and-a-half hours processing the crime scene. A K-9 unit was brought in to track a possible suspect.

Residents say it's very unusual for something like this to happen in their neighborhood. Kenny Wilson has lived in the area for ten years. He was watching TV when he heard seven or eight gunshots.

'It was scary, it's so close to home, right around the corner,' he said.

Police don't have a motive or any suspects.

Meantime, the victim's body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

Anyone with information about this shooting should call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
